Ingredients

  • 1kg chicken breast, cut into tenderloin sizes
  • 1 ½ cups sesame seeds
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup flour (we used buckwheat)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Oil or butter for pan frying

Method

  1. Mix the flour with the garlic and salt in a bowl.
  2. In a second bowl, crack the eggs and whisk lightly
  3. In a third bowl, add the sesame seeds.
  4. With each strip of chicken first toss in the flour, then the egg then the sesame seeds and place on a tray. Repeat with remaining strips until they’re all done.
  5. Heat a frypan to medium-hot. Add a little olive oil or butter and pan fry for a few minutes on each side until the sesames seeds just begin to turn golden and the chicken in just cooked through. Over cooking will dry the chicken out.
  6. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Serve with a big salad or steamed vegetables.

Serving suggestion: We mixed ours up in a mango and avocado salad with lots of fresh mint. Very yum!
